Innovating Holistic Healthcare: Khi Tam Therapy's Approach to Post-Surgical Knee Recovery

Recognised as a Complementary Health Innovation

Khi Tam Therapy is an integrative method that combines natural therapies, ancient yoga traditions, and modern science. It has been officially recognised by Complementary Health Professionals (CHP) in the UK as a CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) approach. Designed to support holistic health across the five bodies: physical, energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual, it blends hands-on massage therapy, yoga therapy, coaching, energy training, and alkaline-focused nutrition, supported by biometric technology to ensure clinical precision.

This blog outlines the results of a clinical study on post-surgical knee rehabilitation using Khi Tam Therapy, conducted with 10 participants aged 55–65 over six months in London, UK. The outcomes reveal a powerful integration of natural healing and scientific assessment.

The Context: Chronic Disease and the Rise of CAM

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a leading cause of disability worldwide. Musculoskeletal conditions, particularly in ageing populations, place growing pressure on healthcare systems in both Vietnam and the UK. In this context, CAM approaches like Khi Tam Therapy offer cost-effective, non-invasive, and sustainable support for managing chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis.

Research Methodology

This research employed a multidimensional approach based on the "Five Bodies" model (physical, energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual). The study included 10 patients (ages 55–65) who had undergone knee replacement surgery and were still experiencing significant pain (VAS ≥ 6) and reduced mobility. All had previously attempted conventional physiotherapy with limited success.

The Khi Tam Therapy protocol included:

Delivery method: In-person therapy once per week combined with guided home practice via the Sridevi Therapy App.

Tracking tools: PostureScreen 4D and Freemed (Sensor Medica) for foot pressure and postural alignment analysis.

Metrics monitored: Pain level (VAS), mobility and strength, posture balance, sleep quality, and overall wellbeing.

Key Findings

After six months of continuous therapy:

  • Pain levels decreased from 8.1 to 0.6 (VAS).

  • Pain-free walking distance improved from 0.5 km to 4.4 km.

  • Foot pressure increased significantly (up to 181 kPa).

  • Postural alignment saw visible improvements (from 12.65 cm to 9.25 cm symmetry).

  • Head weight load improved from 11.36 kg to 13.8 kg, indicating better spinal alignment and reduced joint stress.

Patients also reported enhanced energy, better breathing and circulation, reduced anxiety, deeper sleep, improved emotional balance, and a stronger sense of inner connection and self-healing.

Clinical Highlight: A Complex Case

Among the ten participants, one complex case involved a 64-year-old male entrepreneur with a history of multiple surgeries and chronic conditions including knee ligament injury, Achilles tear, prostate surgery, migraines, insomnia, and long COVID symptoms.

His personalised Khi Tam treatment focused on postural realignment, sacrum and gait correction, breathwork, trigger point release, and mindfulness-based energy coaching. After six months, the patient reported reduced knee pain, improved posture and walking, fewer migraines, better sleep, and increased emotional resilience and energy.

Conclusion: A Model for Sustainable Healing

This study highlights Khi Tam Therapy’s potential as a complementary rehabilitation method, especially for musculoskeletal recovery. By working across the five bodies, the approach addresses physical symptoms while supporting deep energetic and emotional healing.

Khi Tam Therapy bridges traditional Eastern knowledge with modern technology — creating a practical, data-driven model of integrative healthcare. As the method continues to grow, future research with larger sample sizes and hospital collaborations will be key to validating its place in mainstream recovery protocols.
